Known for artful celebrations and memorable meals, Arlene Cotler considers herself to be one lucky person! Cooking began for her as an escape following long days as a teacher for the deaf in New York City. Inspired by Julia Child she began to throw dinner parties for friends and they were such a hit that a new career was born. Moving to Asheville in 1991 meant the opportunity to be part of a burgeoning food scene. Great produce, locally grown meats, poultry and local mountain trout along with fresh seafood coming directly from the coast of North Carolina meant the possibilities were endless. Her recipe is simple: she loves to cook, she loves to make beautiful, great tasting food and she loves the joy it brings to others.
